About Me

Hi, there, I’m Ginger Moore, MA, MEd, Professional Counselor Associate. My pronouns are she/her/hers. I’m LGBTQIA+-affirming, Neurodivergent-affirming, and an anti-racist. I believe societies should nurture and respect all their people. Building community is one of the things humans can be good at - and is one of the best ways to heal individuals, groups, and the world.

I’m the proud parent of two amazing young people. I live in a household full of queerness, neurodiversity, disabilities, and joy. I plant flowers every year, I love live theater, and I make art.

As a therapist, I am person-centered and use techniques from a variety of approaches, especially: EMDR, Somatic therapy, breath work, ACT (Acceptance & Commitment Therapy), Feminist therapy, and Narrative therapy. In addition to my training as a Professional Counselor Associate, I completed a certificate in Trauma Response and am proud to be a member of WPATH, the World Professional Association for Transgender Health. My supervisor is Scott Elmore, PsyD, LPC, CCSOT.

“She wanted me to bear witness, to hear again both the naming of her pain and the power that emerged when she felt the hurt go away.”

Why South Falls?

In EMDR and other types of therapy, a client is asked to identify a calm place; somewhere they feel, at least comparatively, at peace. One of my places is South Falls, perhaps the most well-known feature of the beautiful Silver Falls State Park. I’ve been at South Falls at times of great joy, in times of shattering grief, with dysfunctional family gatherings, and for restful reunions of friends. The grey of the rocks, the rush of the water, the mist behind the falls, and the life throughout the park always bring me first awe - and then calm. I hope my work will help each client access their own places, and their own feelings, of such lasting peace.

More information about the Park can be found here and here.
